would like a comment on settings I used

Hi, I'm trying to video some live footage of piano/vocal duo on stage.

I've attached a screen shot, settings used are:
Scene 6 (factory preset), 24PA

Can someone point me in the right direction as to watch to look for and possibly changing some settings, I would like to keep in 24PA mode as I'll be sending this to the web and to DVD (promo stuff). I got Noah's DVD which is helpful in capturing etc. but not so much on how to use the camera's settings.

I think the colours are a little dull (and noisy?) possibly because I used the cinelike setting in scene 6. I've read a lot of post's and seen screen grabs from certains settings.

I'm a beginner but need to get this footage done with the next 5 days, surely it's possible.

I'm editing in FCP from the Studio 2 bundle.

I have 2 huge spotlights shining from the left and right of the stage and not much else in colour stage lights.

I've thought about getting Barry's book but I don't really have time, this is a rush job and my first... bad timing I know but...

Any help?
C.

Looks great to me as is. Definitely doesn't look dull... actually, it's quite vivid.

What monitor are you using with your mac?

Thanks for the reply,

I'm using a 23inch Apple display.

I've also connected a TV to my MacPro so I can view the footage from FCP, just need to get that working again so I can see the canvas on my TV, it was working when I first hooked it up but now I can't seem to view my FCP project on the TV (another forum post probably).

I've actually redone the footage again tonight with the settings a little different, put the 1st menu page of settings all to zero (Master Ped & A. Iris Level are now zero compared to original factory scene 6).
I also changed the matrix setting to enriched hoping this would make the footage crystal clear
See the attached jpg, I like this look better than my first attempt.

I'd just like the colours to be more rich, is this possible using CC (Final Cut Studio's Color)?
I'm also going to take a TV to the gig and try each setting on the scene file menu, is this usually what people do to judge what each camera parameter does?
Is it possible to see the changes in real time by connecting the TV to the AV outs of the DVX?

It's been a pain to do the live gig and then hope it comes out OK when I get back to my computer.

I've also tried the white balance, but I've had to use Canon glossy photo printing paper..... is this bad?

I think the lighting at the venue is pretty poor, I have all stage lighting on full and the iris is fully open too.

Thanks
C.
