I have that exact lens with scratches on the front element. It is wholly and completely unusable if there is any sort of light source in front of it. It's super mush to begin with and even mild highlights and reflections flair. I personally wouldn't spend one penny on a scratched lens like that. I'll sell you mine for $100 and it looks almost identical to that.

If it were me I might look at the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8
