would a RAID 0 hard drive increase my rendering speed in FCP7???

I have a Mac 2 x 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon with 8 GB RAM and secondaryd 1 terabyte 7200rpm hard drive that's still 70% free.

And I'm working in a Apple ProRes 720p59.94 project using Panasonic HVX 200 720p as well as GH2 AVCHD 1080p24 footage

I was wondering if I "RAID 0" the drive, will it speed up Final Cut Pro 7's performance in terms of rendering when working with such HD material?

What are the main advantages to using a RAID drive when editing HD in FCP7?

Thanks very much in advance.
