Worst produced video I've ever watched oN CNN

But Gord, with respect, you were apparently happy to mention that your friend suffers from schizophrenia in an earlier post, but a professional diagnosis of either condition would make use of exactly the same tools.

And… as it happens, BPD diagnosis must meet five of the criteria listed in the DSM-IV, whilst schizophrenia demands only three.

I’m not suggesting that means that diagnosing BPD is therefore a more rigorous procedure than diagnosing scizophrenia. It’s not. For one thing, ‘schizophrenia’ is an umbrella term for a number of different sub-types…

So what was that you were saying again about the ‘ludicrous[ness]’ of ‘lump[ing] it all together into one condition’?

Well, here you go. You decide if your are classically poo pooed up or not.
If you do not fall into this area, then may I suggest you are unclassically poo pooed up.

Haha. I know what you mean.

The biggest risk with psychological classification is creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. I was an informal therapist to a couple "cutters" while I was in middle school who had all self-diagnosed themselves as having borderline personalities. They would excuse themselves from all sorts of behaviors, because they thought those behaviors were inherent and unavoidable due to their "disorder."

Re: Blue Food:

Yeah, I don't understand why all of these conditions are lumped into one.
It seems to me that there are usually several things going on at once. To lump it all into a 'catch phrase' escapes me. I mean, how can this behaviour be described as a single condition when it can be broken down into several conditions? I find that mentality dangerous.
As if there was one pill and one cure for this 'condition'. I see it as being more complicated than that.

Do I make any sense?

I think you are wanting to refer to the DSM-IV...Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Department of Motor Vehicles - IV would drive anyone to mental instability.

I'd actually caught the mistake and edited just before you posted!

I woke back up.

Here's an open invitation to anyone that'll be in Canada, in my area.
That includes you Jack if you're ever around T.O or Montreal area.

Stop in here for 2 to 4 days and bring your camera.
Just give me a heads up before hand and your welcome to stay.

Anyone think I'm full of shi*?
Come over and find out. Tape it. Post it. Then we'll be done with it.
And we'll get to know each other as we really are.

-Gord.

Anyway. The video is crap. I don't care if it's for a world-wide audience or a medical conference. In this case, though, it was for a world-wide audience. Crap.

No disrespect to the talent or camera guy(s), editor, CNN producer etc. but I thought it was going to end with them all saying they are victims of the bi-polar or what ever you call it mental illness. That would have been a much better ending that really explained it all.

Huh? Who said you were full of shi*?
What I said was just because you had one experience with one person that doesn't necessarily mean anyone else is full of shi*. I never doubted your account of what you experienced.

Wonder if they shot alternate endings?

I think the main problem is the editing more than anything. It's like the editor doesn't know anything and decided to spruce it up by zooming and moving the subject around. Worse of all he cuts a medium shot with another medium shot of slightly different position. The technical guy behind this all doesn't know anything... awful video on a lot of levels.
