Worst Film I've ever seen in my life. Shot on RED.

No, it would be alienation if the scene were to include a farm worker who picked oranges but could not afford orange juice... yet the bourgeois drinker has the wealth to afford the 'excess value' of the juice.
(As well as a refrigerator to maintain the juice quality over time... well... a least a few days... and of course the short could continue with the maid throwing out the half drunk juice, which had gone sour... thus showing that the excess value of the juice was purely imaginary...).

Well, how much of a scathing indictment of bourgeoisie life and the alienation inherent in our consumption based society can you really get for $3500.00 these days? ....Even with a RED camera!

I know... use to be one could get this sort of thing for free... then someone decided to capitalize on it...

I watched the first minute or two then skipped around a few places and cracked up every time I stopped to watch. Literally tears in my eyes. I'll definitely give it another try when I need a good laugh.

There's lots of films on RottenTomatoes that have scored lower than that. There are 419 films on there that got a 0%. If you want a real winner, "Manos: The Hands of Fate" has both a 0% on RottenTomatoes (with a 1.5 average audience rating) and a 1.8 on the IMDB, which puts it as the #2 worst-rated film in the entire IMDB database. Only Celal ile Ciren ranks lower, with a 1.7.

We don't know where The Time Machine (I Found At A Garage Sale) would rank, as it's not listed in the IMDB.

Amazing. Clearly these guys are pretty clever. I have no doubt that every second of this film is deliberate. It's actually really hard to purposely make a campy film. You have to play it honestly, which I think these guys did. The discussion here is exactly where they wanted to take this. Gagnam style anyone?

I'm with you there. For the same reasons I am impressed with birdemic I am impressed with this. It's hard to make a b-movie that comes across as a genuine b-movie and these dudes have seriously nailed it. I feel that this is going to be a popular film form again soon (psuedo b movie).

I am scared sh*&less by this! I am going to actually do my first real film in a few months with less than $2000 budget

I believe Birdemic and Time Machine were sincere attempts at real entertaining cinema; trying to emulate Hollywood. They are both endearing and fun to watch because they are such epic failures. That makes them entertaining, so the film makers actually did achieve their goal if it was to entertain.

Were either of these films intended to be so bad they are good and made that way on purpose? IMO, no.

I can pretty much guarantee you that both filmmakers set out purposely to make GOOD films. There are interviews online by the director of Birdemic, who absolutely intended to make a serious film about global warming/climate change etc; at first when audiences laughed at it he didn't know what to make of that, but he decided "hey, people are enjoying my film!" and embraced it for the camp it is.

As for "Time Machine", I posted some quotes earlier from the director, who actually felt that his film here (which he had very high hopes for) even echoed "Star Wars" in some ways. I sincerely doubt he set out to make a bad film, I think he tried in a genuine effort.

this film really needed a sex scene between the shipmates that would be the icing on the cake for this.

I think many of us have probably done films of this quality, for better or for worse!

I find on set it's the **** experiences and films that people bond over, not the good ones!

I wish I could share I film I worked on, it's like a "true-life-story" to rival this one. Was an utter, utter disaster but I couldn't afford to say no at the time!

Remember, there is no movie that can't be made better with the inclusion of a car chase, another explosion and a cheerleader shower scene!

The first short film I ever made, (Dorm Stalker) at age 21 on 16mm film (1978) was only slightly longer than the orange juice scene!

Voiceover for Dorm Stalker trailer (in best trailer guy voice) : " The Dorm Stalker...it stalked the college campus looking for innocent young girls. When it couldn't find any, it settled for what it could get..."

Sorry mate. Not even on my worst day.

It doesn't really get worse than this. Hate to join the haters bandwagon, but let's call it what it is. No shame in failing, this person surely has a lot to learn, and I bet they have. They will grow, and eventually turn out better work. Practice makes perfect, and there's no shame in that. The only real danger is if they try to recreate or re-achieve this gimmicking success of 'so bad it's good' again. I feel like this person might have a short term lightning in a bottle. I'm not sure how you'd even ride this temporary 'success', but just as unlikely of their next film being a critical success, is doing something that feels so genuinely bad again.

Again, you are right about learning from failure. We all have. I still do. It may not be failure, but we can all be self-critical and learn to expand, explore and improve on every project.
