Worst Film I've ever seen in my life. Shot on RED.

Where are the filmmakers with the balls to point a camera out our society and say something about it? Why is it that so many low budget filmmakers now a days only want to make movies about zombies, hit men and time machines? I don't get it... $3500 and a RED camera, and that is what you want to make?

Great point. But you see that at all levels. Even Hollywood and TV series are mostly about that, or "who done it" type of films. That's why I like to watch world movies and foreign films. Amateur filmmakers should study these low budget films, and not muti-million dollar budget "classics" from Hollywood.

I have wondered about that for a long time. Where are today's counter-culture filmmakers? With the amazing relatively low cost media making tools available now, where are the alternative voices? Check out some festivals. They're everywhere.

Well, they are obviously not studying any films, Hollywood or otherwise.

Tough choice...

I suppose it depends on the festival. The "international" festival where i live seems to like pretentious crap. They would NEVER show a Russ Meyers or John Waters type of movie.
There are festivals that belong to the Fantastic Fest organisation all over the world. They show that stuff all the time.
Where do you live?

The theater were I saw "Pink Flamingos"(1972) and "Female Trouble"(1974) was at one of the "Landmark" theaters here in San Diego. At the time the concept of 'art house' theater had not really reached out to the hinterlands... and San Diego was (and in some ways still is...) the 'hinterland' relative to LA and New York... so most of my 'art house' viewing was at this theater.

For the Russ Meyer fare, those I saw mostly at the 50 cent theaters in the downtown area, which ran films from about 6 AM to about 2 AM (emptying out the theater at about 4 AM.)... people who were in the Navy probably visited them to sober up before going back on base...

As far as I know, there are no modern equivalents to the latter type of cheap seats theater. The other cheap seat theater that was probably more prevalent outside of big cities, was the drive-in... which have all but disappeared these days as well...

Leaving 'home viewing' probably the only place where such 'quality' fare can be had... and the problem there is how to get to the 'market' for films other than Zombie Hitmen with Time Machines... (Personally I go for the Zombie Strippers... which probably is a mash up with Russ Meyer and the modern age favorite...).

I've been looking at Netflix of late, but again one would have to know what one was looking for to find the 'cheap seats' quality fare...

"The Time Machine" girl of course... not a Ricki Lake but with little effort the film could have been a John Waters... just needed a little vision through distorted lenses... but alas... too many people are trying to make 'real films' and not taking the time to make total kitsch...

Having been Ace Gun Bearer for the Wife's wedding biz... I can only say that I only can stand watching wedding parodies... the minute they take themselves seriously... channel switch...

Holy Crap people!! Who needs a movie got 1 462,419 views!! AND... they're filming a music video for a band right now!!

OMG!!! WOW. That is like watching a train wreck or a gory medical procedure!! WOW.

I think more like dentists in action... 'is it safe???'...

But from the following found on 'youtube'...

Hi

Im Fred and I like to have fun with videos and animation. I've got lots of good ideas for future projects and I promise to try to keep them thought provoking and fun. I love comments but I will remove them if they are particularly nasty, use excessive foul language or are aimed at hurting someone or some group. I do recognize that sometimes a colourful and expressive word is appropriate and I will try to distinguish between those and the merely scatological.

I suspect these are comedic/parody efforts... on a 'studied' nolo budget...
