worst decade for movies?

There are brilliant films in every decade! I can't really see how you could pick one that is the worst. There are tons of crappy films every year, and always a few that shine through.

80's? Back to the Future. And this decade has churned out some pretty bad ones so far. I'm waiting patiently for the comic book superhero film to die.

Yeah, but you know I'm sure there is some kid out there who thinks Transformers is the greatest film ever made, and in 20 years he'll be complaining about what a bad decade the 20's was for movies and how they don't make'em like they used to. Of course, that's assuming there sill are movies being made. I'm guessing by the end of the 20's we'll be seeing the dawn of fully immersive virtual realities and movies as we know them now will become a curiosity.

The difference, of course, is that Back to the Future is an objectively good movie, whereas Transformers isn't, no matter how sophisticated the FX.

Ugh. Sitting through a bad movie is awful enough. I don't even want to imagine being stuck in a bad fully-immersive virtual reality...

Outside of technical proficiencies which can be judged according to a firm standard, I don't think I see how one can support an argument that a given film is objectively good.
