worried about ebay

So I recently made a deal with a seemingly legitimate ebay stored called ElectronixMax. I traded my GL2 + an undisclosed amount of funds by certified check for a DVX100 with about 150 hours on it.

I mailed my GL2 plus the certified check via UPS second day air. It was recieved on Wednesday and I havent heard back from the company since they recieved it about shipping my DVX.

I have tried contacting them by both phone and e-mail but still nothing. Should I be getting worried? This deal was made off ebay and they have both my camera and my money. Yet at the same time they have 3000+ positive feedback on ebay. With that said does anyone on this board have experience with them? I am hoping I am just being worried. I have shoots coming up that I need to know I will have a camera for.

That store is a big rip off on Ebay, I've seen them trying to sell things overpriced all the time. I don't know if their bad people or not, but all I know is that they over price their items a lot.

Try mailing them through ebay.

Never do a deal off of Ebay unless you are 100% sure it's the same person on Ebay. I'm not sure you need to worry yet, but keep on them.

Not too sure, but wouldn't they have to check out the cam you sent them, to make sure it works and all that? That might take them a few days, so i also wouldn't worry too much just yet.

I've had a lot of luck on ebay both as a buyer and a seller. I've been burned before, but the majority of my transactions have been smooth.

That whole trading+money business doesn't sound legit or within ebay terms of service. They might just be slow to respond, but stll that is rediculous. Keep bugging them.

Go online and check their Account and see if they changed their Ebay ID. If they didn't then you're probably alright and they are just being slow. If they did then someone might have scammed their account. The chances of that generally isn't that high with someone with 3000 positive feedback. One of the main things that you will notice if someone did take over their account is that the account will be for like one day and they will make up some stupid excuse about how there is some problem with there e-bay e-mail so you should contact them using the e-mail that they list in the auction.
I've been on E-bay since 1999 and if you use common sense and realize that if it's too good to be true then it probably is then you should have a very good experience.

I tried to buy off eBay once... But they wouldn't take the money and talked to the U.S. Attorney General's Office, and now there are seven indictments against me.... Now I have to move to another country. :(

Just kidding. Although this does sound kinda fishy. I would never buy anything off eBay. I've made transactions for my relatives before, but I wouldn't do it!

I have bought:

DSR-500 camcorder with lens
patchbays
BVW-75 Betacam deck
Tripods
and many other items on ebay with no problems.

THe feedback system works well, and I never buy from someone without at LEAST 95% feedback.

In fact, I think our own "marketplace" could do well with a similar feedback system.

That might be a good idea. I had a not so smooth experience with someone on here and the way they shipped the product. In the end it all worked out I guess but I was really dissapointed in his professionalism.

Well, much to my satisfaction I heard from ElectronixMax today via phone. This all happened because of an e-mail glitch. As it turns out, my camera was in fact given to UPS on the day they told me it would. I should have it tomorrow! So far so good. For anyone curious about the quality of this company I plan on posting more after I inspect the camera. Btw, this is one hell of a community here for DVX users.

Thanks,
Chris Gentile
