World Exclusive First HVX200 Footage..PART 2

Wow, as I saw that amazing DOF in the first Video I asked myself "how is that possible". But just yesterday I had the opportunity to test the camera by myself during a presentation in Hamburg, Germany. And besides all the other stunning features the DOF capabilities were the most exciting.

I had one guy standing round about 2,5 meteres away from the lens and another guy standing 2,5 to 3 meters behind him. And with the lens zoomed in two thirds or so I was able to obtain an outstanding depth of field, that really needs proper focus pulling. Amazingly amazing:thumbsup:

The DOF is just the same as with the DVX, right? All 1/3" chips output the same deph of field.

Is it the resolution that does it?

At the same focal length and the same distance from the subject, all 1/3" cameras would produce the same depth of field.

The HVX has a longer telephoto than the DVX, and can generate shallower DOF because of it; the HD100 has longer telephoto than the HVX and can get shallower DOF, and the XLH1 has longer telephoto than the JVC and can get shallower DOF (presuming you can get far enough away from the subject to take advantage of these longer focal lengths).

Baltimore 48Hour Film Project

Hi Guys,
I'm new to the site. I've been a Canon user since the XL1. With the release of the H1 I found I had to jump ship. Now I'm shooting with the HVX200 and life is good. I just completed live action footage for a CG CIA spot that will be airing soon. Last weekend, I directed a 48Hour Film Project video. I wanted to share it with everyone, but the HD version is so big. In the mean time, here's a link to a pretty good looking web version. If anyone wants to see it in 720p I can set it up on my FTP later. I hope you like it., remember, you only have 48hours togo from hat to tape. I do have some questions about the camera, but I'll post those in the proper forum.

If the direct link doesn't work, try this and going to film and the Date.

Cucillo, you should repost that in its own thread. This is buried in this thread and there's a good chance people won't see it.

hi
that was great!(hvx_1080-24p_demo_footage.wmv)
i heard that we can record a shot up to 1440X1080 px resolution with HVX200(1080i).
but your footage is 1920X1080 , i want to ask you how you do that?

Tappity Tap

I finally got FCP installed, so I've been learning how to import and edit footage. This is the first thing I've done with the camera and FCP. It's a bit (lot) sloppy, but hey, I'm learning...

Hi def - 3D and another HVX200p I need!!!

Hi def - 3D and another HVX200p I need!!!

High Definition is already becoming old news.

The New news is 3D. Philips and other companies R&D departments already have screens with 3D micropripms. Movies look way way better than HD! More real than real. You move your head and you see the back! HD looks nowhere close to that.

Maybe I need to buy another HVX200p :) and couple them together :nads: for the 3D effect.

I'm betwen Fort Lauderdale and Palm Bch area in sunny Florida.

If anyone is within my area has an HVX200p in my area and is willing to try it pls let me know.

thank you all!
