Working with a field mixer plugged into my HPX170

Hi,

I am looking for a way to get a precise dB input level reading on my Panasonic HPX170 camera. We will be recording directly to camera on our next project and my sound man wants to be able to set his mixer's test tone to -18dB on my HPX170. Is there a way to achieve this with any precision?

Why wouldn't a mix pre or other field mixer work ? That's what I use on my 150
