working hard disk solutions?

Kinda wondering what everyone is doing for working hard disc space. I’ve resolved my long term storage issue via tape (LTO-2). But I have a new, really well configured (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=63134) PC on order and I’m just starting to look at different solutions for editing large files and multiple HD layers.

I’ve got a couple of G-Raids but they’re not going to cut it with multiple streams. Looks like Promax has a couple of viable options. Anybody got a good handle on this yet . . . suggestions/observations would be appreciated.

I'm getting fantastic transfer rates and raid 5 protection from building an apple xserve raid from spare parts, mostly found on ebay. The chassis is the hard part to find.
