Workhorse lenses

It's a little frustrating reading these posts, not knowing which "20mm" we're talking about. "The 20mm"? Is there only one 20 1.7? For those posting, please be more precise in your descriptions of these lenses you're praising or describing so others have a clue what you're talking about. Thanks!
"The 20mm" for the AF100 would be the Lumix micro4/3 20mm f(1.7). It's a cheap (~$300), fast (1.7), great quality, decently wide lens.

Thanks Reverend! Sounds like a very interesting lens. I would love to see a sample of what it's image looks like on an AF100.

Yes, we're all talking about the Lumix 20mm "pancake" lens.

A nice lens, Yes... but NOT decently wide. So don't buy it thinking you are getting a WA. I bought it last month before I understood the 4/3 focal length issue... at that time I was laboring under the delusion that the increase in focal length was 1.18, so I thought "fine... it'll be about a 24mm still camera equivalent" well it turns out that 25mm is a "normal" lens, so the 20mm is now equivalent to a 40mm.
I now am going to have to get the 14mm pancake for use on the steadycam or crane (for weight issues)... that lens is a bit more expensive, but it is really really light. So I will have three Panny lenses that hit 14mm point... the 7-14, the 14prime, and the 14-140. From the reviews I have read, the lens is quite sharp also... so, for deep focus wide angle shots it should really shine... no lens hood though... so, will the loss of weight there be enough to offset the possible use of a mattebox? Only balance tests will tell. I'll post after I try.

Not everybody comes from a stills camera background. 20mm in the cinema film world is on the slight wide end of the scale. So, yes it's not a "very wide" lens, but it leans wide in cinema standards.

I'd love to know the same thing about the Panny 14-50 f2.8. Anyone know if the OIS will work?

I've never seen this lens before. It's a Leica D with manual aperture ring. Apparently it supports the multiple OIS modes as well. I wonder how long 2.8 holds throughout the lens. If it goes to 40mm at least, very well could be my next lens.

EDIT:

Ok, now I'm a little excited. I want to find a lens that works for ENG zooming and does do the aperture chatter that the 14-140 does while zooming. Mega OIS looks just as amazing as the 14-140 from some demos. Just need to find a camera store with this in stock.

Interesting review. Should have even better optical performance on a m4/3 sensor.

Mega OIS looks similar to the 14-140 and it works on the GH1

Might have breathing issues apparently

Edit:
Lens holds aperture without chatter:

May be the only Mega OIS lens that does this? This may be the equivalent of the Tamron 17-50vc for nikon and canon users.
