Workflow to present progressive output

Hi there, ???
Could somebody please explain easy workflow to get progressive output. I have shoot some footage in 25P (Europe/PAL). Now I like to edit it in FCP-HD (which I suppose can handle progressive video) but what happens if I have some rendering needs in my edit ? (Ok this should be in other forum but.... :-[ )
After editing I like to ("print to video" ) put my video back to video tape into Pana. I think this still keeps my material in progressive. But how I can get it out from my Pana ? I think that S-video is not progressive. I have LG-Plasma TV (which can handle progressive). Is there need some special cables from Pana to Plasma-TV ? Or is it better idea to burn my video (with DVD-SP3) to DVD :-/ ?

Re: Workflow to present progressive output

Hi Kari.

If you shoot on 25P. You have progressive. And you can watch at your monitor or Tv and see a mix of interlaced and progresive. Let me explain. The tv still being interlaced but the frame that shows has consecutive fields from the same frame. So, it's been representated interlaced a image that lower and upper fields are taken in the same 1/25th of second, so you will see the progresive effect or the holy grial digital film, that is 25 digital pictures by second.
So you can capture in any way, but will capture interlaced, you can capture with the preset DV PAL from FCPHD and everything will be ok. Or if you have a PCI card, you can capture by composite, s-video, or components. Everything will be interlaced.
You can render and FCP will interprete all the things right. And if you want to finish really progresive, go and render mpeg2 High quality.

If you want to get the maximun quality I recomend to you that copy the tape to a digibeta (or something like that) through component wires or SDI and then capture from here.
