Workflow: editing 4K2HD Prores from 7Q on a PC

Humor me folks...

Let's assume that we are going to:

1. edit video with a well endowed PC (not a Mac), and using
2. 4K2HD Prores footage (from a 7Q), and
3. perform color correction

Now, given that you could use any software currently available - what software would you use? In what order would you use it?

Please be specific in the name of software, plug ins, etc that you would use.

Lower end budget - everything inside Premiere Pro.

Better budget - send it off to a colorist and a sound guy after editing.
 
I personally enjoy life working inside the adobe ecosystem(premiere, after effects, audition, speedgrade, mocha, etc).

Lots of folks speak about the "efficiency" of vegas, resolve & fcp, but I can tell you this. There is nothing you can do in one program that you can't do in another. I think it would have more to do with how well you know the programs and workflow, rather then what workflow works best

This is a great point. Except for me, as a noob-neophyte, I would like to learn the (PC based) programs that result in the best workflow for the FS700/O7Q/4K2HD.

Any more specific direction and detail with the sequence of editing (and particular programs) in workflow would be greatly appreciated.
 
For me it's REALLY simple!

I import the clips from the SSD via the new import tool from CD to my RAID.
Open Premiere Pro CC - import the folder containing the clips.
Then simply use something like Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks or Colourista II for simple grading work. Simple, fast, real time.

Of course if you want more fully featured grading - dynamic link to Speed Grade. It keeps getting better and better.

99% of the time, this is all I need and gives great results. Depends on the type of work you're doing though.
 
And now Adobe is shipping out a patch with Cinema DNG support for O7Q files.

Looking forward to that!
 
Sorry I was a bit vague with the reply, was on an airplane and have the attention span of a 2 year old sometimes :)

For myself..

Cam --> External recorder --> Redundant field drives --> Raid array (+ Backup disk) --> Premiere --> Audition --> After Effects --> Speedgrade --> Premiere --> Media Encoder

This is an "average" workflow and assumes I am not doing anything special like compositing or heavy volume 3dsmax/Cinema 4d stuff.
