FS7: Wooden Camera's "Battery Slide (FS7)"

That's a nice looking solution for adding a battery to the FS7. Thanks for the heads up.

Since it's made by Wooden Camera it could have been priced anywhere between $150 and $650. I like their stuff, but their prices are all over the place. Like their wood hand grip- it's $200, and it looks great. But if you want to mount the attachable switch to start and stop recording, it's another $200. So the grip looks slightly underpriced and the lanc control appears really over-priced.

Do companies their size not have an accounting/finance dept that's adept enough to spread costs more broadly, so you don't end up pricing a small rod adapter selling for $95 and your hand-carved wood grip at $195? I see Zacuto price some things wildly too, but they generally range from "fair" to "over-priced." Not a lot of bargains with them.

Good question. But I'm pretty sure I read recently that Wooden Camera was purchased by and is now part of the Vitec group... not sure if that will change their pricing structure.

And Bern - that is a slick idea - the ability to slide ( for counter weight adj )and to add Sony batt. If I didn't already own the Tilta V-Lock plate, I'd pick one of these up.
