wooden camera EVF

has anyone seen this yet?

http://woodencamera.com/universal-evf-mount-red

I just came across it. my biggest gripe with EVF's is that you cant adjust the angle on the fly when using a NOGA arm or something similar. this seems to take care of that. I saw it on philip blooms site, and it looks like you can adjust the tension enough to keep it in one spot, but be able to rotate it as needed.
looks like combined with a berkey top plate this could work out well.

if anyone has tried it, let me know!

yeah, I know. but they can probably get away with it seeing as I can't find anything similar on the market right now. i really want an EVF for hand held work, but I am not gonna get one till I can rotate it freely.

That's what i did and everybody loves it !!!
you have to ask Brian Berkey to ad the proper holes to acomodate the UVF from woodencam in the top plate extension.
And by the way Woodencam is suposed to update their UVF an offer a smaller braket (4") It will help a bit since most of the time you d'ont need all that lenght

Olivier, could you post a picture of how the Wooden Camera EVF mount sits on your camera? I'm also curious if it will work with a DP4.

yeah, I would love to see a picture, I am thinking of going with the DP4 to go with my DP6. a smaller bracket would be awesome, that was the only thing I didn't like the looks of.
I already have a Berkey plate, wonder if I can send it back to have the holes drilled out?

Don't know why no ones looking at this. Its exactly the way an evf should work and is perfect for the f3. Although the setup is designed for the fs100 I'm sure with a berkey topplate you can mount this baby on there becasue they have many mounting parts like a dovetail that you can mount on the berkey plate. Or maybe ask them to machine you a piece for the berkey.

Nice looking.... but where do the hdmi cables go in his video?
...doesn't look like a lot of room even with right angled ones?

It's those pants hdmi cables on the Zacuto that cause all the problems when moving the EVF around!

Apparently from what Solidworks emailed me, the shipping version they are making will have a lateral slide for different sized people and the positions they like. Since the hdmi on the zacuto comes out from the right side this should solve the clearance problem you think might exist. But if its the hdmi connection that you have a problem with on the zacuto, well thats something thats not the supports problem. Also solidworks has different mounting arms that can accommodate the cineroid or smallhd too.

the Zacuto EVF can be mounted upside down so the inputs are on the outside instead of the inside. then you can engage the flip image feature.

oh and re: the price on the wooden evf thing....ridiculous!

Yeap i know Woodencam is expensive i collegue of mine asked a local shop to do someting a bit similar with some improvement and it did not cost him as much as the woodencam
As i said we are pleased with the woodencam and just to let you know they just release a shorter braket
The custom holes in the berkey extension plate have been made by Berkey

here it is with the zacuto

the custom mades holes

this part is from woodencam part of their system
Brian Berkey made the holes for this part but woodencam provided the part
Berkey also sell cross clamp and they see to have a stronger lock
there is still some place to put a top rod if needed
