Woo Hoo!! 1,000th Post!!!!

Larry Rutledge

Fest Master
Well, it finally happened...I finally reached the much sought after achievment of 1,000 posts here on DVXUser. I don't know if I should feel proud :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) or if I should cry :crybaby: .

I was "encouraged" by the Baninator to make a 1K vid, so.... I did (what else could I do? I don't want to be banned). Anyway, let me preface this video by saying that I still don't know what I'm doing - and I'm sure it will be evident in the lighting and audio in particular.

Also, I'm more of a behind the scenes kind of guy. I don't really relish in the limelight and get very nervous around the glass end of a camera lens. I had a lot of thoughts and ideas for this video, most of which never made it.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it and I'm looking forward to the next 1,000 posts.

(You know the drill, right-click and save as...)

What a cool community we have here. I love these virtual meetings across the World. We should mandate a 1K Vid Intro or instant BAN

Muahahah

And you an sing ? Awesome. Great job dude

Thanks guys, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is nerve-wracking enough to have to make it...then to post it and wonder what kind of response it will get is almost unbearable.

Thanks for sharing, Larry.

Yes, the absence of the cowbell has brought about a shift in the force. The balance of which lies deep in the casing of that iron-clad clapper. I sense a great level of concern amongst the DVXuser community. The percussive beating of that brass bell was like the drum we all march to. Dare I say, it provided the soundtrack for our lives.

A musical 1k video? :) Can't compete with that! Great stuff, Larry. Thanks for the shout-out.

We apprecaite you too.

oh wow, Larry! very smooth voice....and sitting down, too. Acapella... Impressive! :) (spare ribs! haha!)

Thanks for the holla! Nice job and very nice to meet ya! I love cuff links... people never do that anymore. A man without cuff links is like...well, I dont know what. But it is. :)

I agree!!! And if I can do it with my Panasonic PV-GS65 consumer camcorder, anyone can. You should have seen my "lighting setup" :embarasse It was just several practicals pointing at different places around me and the room, and I just used the mic built into the cam. And, the biggest faux pas of all, I left the camera on "Auto" :embarasse

Sing more often!
Thanks for the thought...I have sung in several college choirs, one of them was by special invitation. I was auditioning for a public choral group and the director requested I join his "invitation only" University Choir - that was a challenging choir, but a lot of fun and I really grew as a singer.

At the risk of sounding conceited, I actually sing much better than what you heard....but I was really nervous about the whole camera thing.

Agreed...so put the cowbell back...or at the very least, make the cowboy monkey bang the bell :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
