Won't Detect USB

Hello. I've been trying to find something on the forum before posting this but have had no luck finding what i need.

My computer (pc) detects the hvx200 via 1394 but does not via usb.

I've tried two other computers through usb which leads me to a few conclusions.

I'm thinking there needs to be something i need to do in the hvx200 to tell it to switch to usb instead of firewire. I found in the menu an option that says pc mode which i switched to usb but still no luck.

Firewire my comptuer detects the device but i can't capture footage with the hvx200. Any help would be much appreciated.

I would like to add when the firewire detects it asks me what i would like to use to open it with. Such as premiere etc. The p2 store does not detect the hvx200 though when it is connected via firewire.

You need to put ther camera in to host mode (either firewire or usb).
Hold down the VCR button for a couple of seconds.

I was just looking for the answer to this very problem and it popped up in front of me. Thanks. The manual could not be any more unhelpful on this. I was panicking thinking I had a dead usb port...
