Woah! Ad attack! Wtf happened?

Hey!

What happened? All of a sudden super intrusive ads pop up everytime I go from one page to another... and they cover alot of the info on the forum... Super annoying... I understand the need to have ads but this is ridiculous...

It's not this site. You've picked up some popup adware somewhere. I had an extremely persistent case a couple of years ago and an older version of adwcleaner took care of it easily in short order.

Site seems fine and no other reports of any issues remotely similar.

Sounds like your computer has picked up adware as Bruce opines.

A couple of years ago my antivirus warned of multiple attacks from Landmineads, while on DVXuser and on Reduser. I reported it to Jason Ramsey, who afaik is a moderator on both sites, the problems were promptly fixed. Earlier this month the same attack warninghappened on Reduser, attacks blocked by antivirus as coming from landmineads. I didn't pick up anything coming from DVXuser this time, but I note the site does use Landmineds service for ads. I would certainly think it possible that DVXuser was affected even if only briefly

Ok, so apparently a browser extension called MacSmart had been installed. It was easily removed in the preferences of the browser(s). Sorry for thinking it was this site. But it was only here I saw it...
