Is there a way to tell if a WMV file has a constant or variable bitrate...1 or 2 pass?

depends how you render. in Vegas, you can choose CBR or VBR as well as 1 or 2 pass, and you can manually select a min-max bitrate.
so i'm not sure what you're asking exactly....are you referring to one of your own videos, or someone elses?

Someone elses. I was wondering if you can tell if a video was encoded using one or the other. Perhaps a programs that lets you see that kind of metadata.
