Without Tiger it's just "golf".

Jim, there is a pretty important difference in what you are alluding to. When you are involved in a 48 hr project or a student film......you are actively involved, not sitting on our asses, LOL. But maybe the projects I have been involved in are a bit more "energetic" than the ones you were on.:D

Well, I can sit down and shake my head at the futility of it, or I can do it standing up. Either way can be entertaining.

There's a joke in here somewhere......

Tiger will be just fine and no one will be talking about this after he wins his next Major or even next month.

He cheated on his wife (What famous superstar hasn't? I'd bet the stats are up on this one). It wasn't assault charges, domestic abuse or drugs, etc, etc.

Hell, even if it it was, he'd still be fine.

It is bizarre too me to see this on the National News and a major BREAKING HEADLINE.

Put in the sports segment, hell, put it on E Tv.

It just is an excuse for the news to not report anything real, like say, that ole lil foreign conflict thingy were involved with.

I wonder why people that have zero actual interest (sponsors, the PGA, his wife for example ) even care ?

I just want it to go away. After listening to his voicemail messages and reading some of the texts, dude has a some serious identity issues. But he's one hell of a golfer. I think he will be fine.

I don't get why this guy apologized to the world on TV. He doesn't have to apologize to anyone except the people he hurt in his personal life. And even then, that's his business.

"I don't get why this guy apologized to the world on TV"

No, if he wants to maintain his corporate sponsorships, he has to do the dog & pony show, hold a "press conference" (with invited press), take no questions, and "apologize".

What is most unique in Tiger's case is not his fame, his game, the money or the sex.

It's that he is a practicing Buddhist, and Buddhism is all about lack of self and ego and teaches that suffering is caused by craving.
So maybe he went through the "craving" part and is now "suffering" in order to reach "enlightenment"?

They also believe in Karma, so what will Tiger receive in return for these escapades?

Just another perspective on the situation.

And obviously he should, and hopefully has, apologize to his wife and family.

I understand why he apologized, for publicity sake. I'm saying I don't get our culture. Everyone always thinks when a celebrity does something, he's supposed to apologize. Right now, some other guy is cheating on his wife but no one cares because he isn't famous. I don't get why some people actually point the finger and DEMAND he do something.

With wealth and fame comes tremendous responsibility on and off camera.

Put your self in the public eye and your going to have to answer to the public.

Why?
Our culture is screwed up, obviously.
We (people and media) build people up so they can be torn down, forgiven and rise again.
It's crazy.

And people in the public eye (celebrities) are held to a higher standard, for some reason.

I guess because you and I haven't been built up, so there's no delight in our falling and coming up again?
