Wireless Video for remote monitoring

Sometimes I need to place an unmanned remote camera in places where I simply can't run a cable from them to be able to monitor what they are seeing.

I would like to know if there are any reasonably prices wireless solutions for taking the video output of the HMC (pick any output - I don't mind) and transmitting it up to a couple of hundred feet so that I can monitor it remotely - this will help me decide when I can and can't move the second (or third) camera based on what the remote camera is seeing at this moment.

Yes... theres a good deal of them out there. We bought a pretty good one for our RC helicopter. Look into the hobby secition for RC downlinks and you'll see them. The quality is sometimes suspect and you'll get interference from metal towers and such, it might break up a bit.. but overall it'll do the trick of seeing something from a distance... and the good thing is that your monitoring will be able to be mobile too.... Just remember that a lot of this is battery powered.

Do you have any model numbers of xmit/receivers known to work with HD? All the ones I found with small SD models. Maybe I missed something. While I don't need HD as such, that's what the HMC is outputting - right?

You'll only want to go wireless on the composite video. While there are wireless HDMI systems out there, there's nothing you can't see with SD same as HD when the camera is locked off in an inaccessible corner.

I would worry about a 2.4ghz link, because there will be wireless mics and laptops in some rooms, if they don't hurt your signal, you'll sure be hurting theirs.

I would love to see some type of laser beam video encoder... that would be pretty sweet.
