wireless remote control focus for AF100???

Does a wireless remote control focus exist for the AF100?

I'm filming myself using Reflecmedia's setup and I need to be at least 5 feet away from my camera. So I would need some kind of remote control setup to be able to focus my AF100 properly from a distance.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of lenses are you using? Have you looked at the 'Hocus Focus'?

Well, since you don't have an AC, and as you said are by yourself, first you would need a big enough monitor to see/set focus on from at least 5 ft away.
And it seems you only need to set focus, not actually pull it.

You could go old school one man band news style- set up a light stand at your height, with a knob where your face will be, focus on it.
Then stand with your face where the knob is, record a few seconds, check it out on playback to a monitor.
If it looks sharp, go back to the position and record yourself.

Primitive, yet cost-effective.

Hi everyone and thanks for all your feedback. No unfortunately, I really am a one man band so to speak. For monitoring I have a Flanders Scientific 17" monitor that I'm using to help me focus. But yes, I'm looking for a wireless solution for remote control focusing.

My prime lenses are Canon 35mm, 24mm, 70-200mm, and Zeiss ZF 85mm, 50mm, and 35mm. I also have the micro four-thirds stock 14-140mm lens that came with my GH1, the pancake 20mm f/1.7 and the super low-light 25mm Voigtlander 0.95.

Thanks again.

Why not go old school here? Set your mark then use a tape measure to set distance for your focus, or place an object on the mark set focus on the object then remove the object once your focus is set.

Set it and forget it.

If you aren't moving around, you can just set focus to where you will be and leave it there. If you are moving around, well you aren't going to be able to pull focus and perform at the same time if you truly are a one-man-band.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no need here for remote focus.

No way you can get a friend/family member to stand-in for you while you get a focus and then excuse them? That's what I've done when I had to record myself and didn't want anyone else in the room when I recorded.
