I doubt this has been tried before, but from a theoretical perspective, is there any reason why a wireless receiver would not be able to receive a signal from within an underwater housing, especially if that housing is an EWA Marine bag? Thanks.

Re: Wireless Receiver & Underwater Housing

Wireless (RF) don't like water. This won't work, or we robotics folks would be doing it all the time (and the whole underwater robotics field would be far advanced...).

There are some developing sonar- and magnetism-based communication devices in the works, but bit rates are still a little low for video... about 100bps (4 million times slower than firewire). And there are lots of issues with outages, interference, etc.

So, for the time being... wire it!
