I'm looking in to getting a wireless monitor for my t2i, but had one quick question. Does the LCD still work if you have the monitor plugged in and turned on? If not, whats the solution to that?

It depends on how the wireless monitor you're considering is hooked up to the camera. If via HDMI, then it will disable the lcd screen on camera. if via composite it should still work.

Have you actually done this? On my t2i, HDMI or composite via the Canon adapter cable both kill the on-camera screen.
To have a remote monitor and one at the shooting area, your best bet may be an HDMI splitter. They range from $30 to over $100; research & test.
