It astounds me that you are so quick to put down an accessory that might prove very useful to board readers other than yourself. There are some of us who do not have the time or resources to design and machine our own brackets.
BEC is the predominant mfgr. of wireless mic/camera brackets in North America. There are tens of thousands of their wireless mounts in service. They are used by a large majority of ENG/EFP cameramen on their larger broadcast ENG and HD cameras. Let's let the readers of the board do their own due diligence about products that others may post here to help out DVX users work easier and smarter.
It has been my experience that BEC makes a quality, well designed product. In my opinion, having actually used one of these, it is far more than just a "bent piece of aluminum" and the $200. price tag is just the MSRP, dealers sell them for less. Their products are much more than bench top, few-of-a-kind, prototypes.

..the product can be great, but 200 bucks for that IS rediculous. great products can still be sold at unreasonable prices.. anyone is free to develop their on opinion which differs from mine, but my opinion is that that price is way out of proportion for what the product is. its cool that people tout differnt products here. but alot of people also want to hear others opinions on that product.
same as the mini 35 and many others great product ..outrageous price.

I looked at these when they first came out and I agree with Jared... that is seriously over-priced. I have tried using one, and as someone else commented, I find it very restrictive for hand-held work. I do find their brackets much more useful on full-sized cameras though...
