wireless mic hookup

I bought a radio shack wireless mic and plugged it into audio 1, left the switch to mic and did not have any luck recording from it. I have read the manual several times, but can't figure out what I am doing wrong....besides buying a cheap mic, that is.

Open the LCD and you will see the switches you're after.

also look on the front of the camera at the line/mic switch, see if that helps.

I have set the switch on the front of the camera to mic and still nothing. I don't know what switches under the LCD Sum Tin is suggesting but thanks.

Have you checked that you are getting signal to the base unit / reciever of the lav / handheld? Usually there will be some indicator (led strip) showing signal strength. If you'r getting signal there, try using a different XLR cable.

Check out page 58 of your manual "Connecting External Components". Describes how to connect an external mic.

Also, try setting the input level to see if that brings up the level so you can hear it.
