i want to purchase a wireless lav system for my dvx for wedding ceremonies and interviews. while picking up good audio to my dvx thru the lav at a wedding ceremony how do i accomplish the same feat at the reception?
whereas the officiater, the bride and groom will be miked during the ceremony, who gets miked at the reception?

We usually don't mic at the reception, as the audio systems available usually are loud enough to project to the on-camera mic - we also have a shot gun mic we use as well. If there is no PA/audio system at the reception location, you might want to consider putting a mic on the head table so you can at least get the toasts/speeches recorded. If you know in advance there is only going to be one speech or toast - highly unusual but it might happen - you could always mic that person, but for us the audio at the reception is usually best picked up with a shot gun or the on-camera mic.

This is what I have (similar to what October Black posted above): http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/639316-REG/Sennheiser_EW100_G3_Wireless_ENG.html

I actually have the older, discontinued model, the EW100 G2. This is the newer one and is about $200 more than it used to be.

I use this kit at weddings and receptions all the time. For the ceremony, I mic the groom with the Lav.

For the reception, things can be a little more unpredictable so I place the stick mic on a stand and place that in front of one of the DJ's speakers. I don't use the Lav mic at the reception.

I've tried plugging into the DJ's board but sometimes they don't have an available XLR output or I've also gotten weird hums and noise.

It's a really versatile kit and a great purchase for weddings and events.
