I just purchased a Hisonic HSU8800L 4 X 16 Channel UHF Wireless Microphone System, and I have the dvx 100b. I will be having 4 actors in several of the scenes so that is why i purchased this system. My question is , how do i connect the receiver to the camera so that i can record all of the actors in the scene. This system has a total of 5 outputs, one of which is a mixed standard 1/4" outputs, the other 4 are individual balanced XLR outputs. Could someone please help?

Also in another topic. I am considering in purchasing the Rolls MX-422 field mixer. Should i purchase one? Is it necessary that I have one?

Thanks

The dvx has two inputs and two audio channels. Depending on how your scene plays out you could put two actors on each channel going into the dvx (if your receiver can do that), you could do a mix of all four in one channel.

As for the field mixer, they aren't going to take your camera away from you if you don't have one, but as they say; movies are 60% audio and 40% video. It is a good idea to have one, but if you don't know how to use it, it isn't going to be that helpful.

I'd recommend bringing an audio guy (or girl) on board.

(Come to think of it, I don't think I know any audio girls - weird)

Yes. They are a rare breed.

Mary Khan out of Chicago (Pegasus Recording) is...dare I use the term..."Balls out"!
She could record anything from a bug's conversation to a volcano eruption.
