Wireless Hop/ Scratch Track to DSLR

I find a wireless hop to DSLR a waste of time and resources. A VideoMic Pro and a properly-run slate is all it takes... and the mic isn't even necessary.

I could see the hop for something like an event where you can't really slate and the distances are going to make on camera mics lag behind your main mix.

We did this with wire on a series of events, but if wireless had been an option we would have jumped all over it.

Bingo... this is the situation I'm talking about. Also Alex, There are times in events where the clips are so fast moving that you don't have time to slate, or clap. There'll be a bunch of short clips too and that'll be impossible for plural eyes. If I have a wireless hop I can just slate by sending tone.

Most of the time I shoot alone live events with 2 cams in halls for 250-500 guests. So I use a sennheiser g3 for bcam in a glidecam connected to my sd552 mono mic out. input from 1-2 band mixer board and in house PA via g3. The acam in tripod have LR xlr connection via g3s too.
