Wireless Headset Mic, Any Recommendations?

I have a shoot that the client would like a headset mic unit for the speaker instead of lavalier, what is a decent system, I need only one mic system for this shoot would prefer to rent if you know of a place I can do that but would not mind buying one. If I buy I can consider single mic or multiple mic systems. Any Recommendations for something with reasonable price? Thanks

Are you talking about a wireless system (aka radiomic) with headset? For the wireless system, please see THIS sticky.

For the headset mic, you can get just about any mic terminated for your choice of wireless transmitter. I'd recommend the Countryman E6, which is the same element as the B6 lav but in a very slim headset.

We have no idea where you are (you have not revealed your location in your user profile).
So nobody can really recommend a rental vendor.
And without a number, we don't know what "reasonable price" means to you?

All decent wireless systems have plug-in inputs so you can use a variety of different brands, models, and kinds of microphones.

Thank you guys for your replies. I am located in Austin Texas. I have rented before from Omega Broadcast and plan to check with them today. But also interested in possibly purchasing something. As far as numbers I would like to stay under a $1000. If I buy the Sennheiser Evolution G3 ENG or maybe the sony for example which headset can I add to it? I prefer an ENG type unit. I did check on the countryman e6 and looks good. My other question I already own a Telex UHF ENG handheld system with a plug in transmitter for hand held stage mics, is there a belt clip accessory I can mount on the transmitter and just buy the headset mic? Thanks again.

Most of the major microphone manufacturers offer options to fit most "body pack" transmitters.
Since you have a "plug-on" transmitter with XLR, then any XLR output microphone might work.
The only concern would be whether your transmitter provides phantom power or not?
If the transmitter DOES provide phantom power, then you can chose ANY XLR headset mic to use.
If your transmitter does NOT provide phantom power, then you will need a microphone that does not need it.
That would be a dynamic microphone, or a electret condenser mic with its own battery.

Most modern headset mics are electret which require power.
Typically that is provided by the little body-pack transmitter plug, or full phantom power through the XLR.

If your transmitter provides phantom power, you could cobble a belt clip out of coat-hanger wire, or make a nicer one from gaffers tape or duct tape.
If you look online you will see an amazing variety of those things people have made from duct/gaffer tape.

If you need something more presentable for permanent use, I would think you could go to any tac shop and have them make a nice one from leather.

Consider adding your city, state to your user profile.

Lectrosonics have a case for their plug-on transmitters that has a belt clip. I would imagine that others do also. You may be able to fit yours into someone elses since they seem to all be about the same size but? You might also just buy a belt pack transmitter for your system. The downside to the Plug-on transmitters is that they are fairly bulky compared to the belt pack ones.
