Wireless HD

I have been looking into Rf transmiters for the prupose of monitoring what my camera guys are doing from a van or table in the back of hall or church.

I came across this device that can transmit on UHF chan 62-65.

I was going to uses those portable 9"tv's for vehicles and direct over CB.

Then I thought well won't it be nice to expand that idea to a normal composite switch for live eye or DVD recorder and hand the couple a rough edit at the end of the night.

Okay here is the question:

Does anyone know of a HD RGB component wireless device that could send a great HD broadcast signal (at this level not worth just monitoring)over short distance (300ft) to switch and record from?

I asked the www.rf_video.com sales rep if they had one, he reported that no one has requested such a device before and that maybey they will start making one.

Some thing like that is a year or two away, at best.

Even video transmitters that cost $2000-$3000 cut out at bad times, and that's even for composite SD video. Something that would do better, and for HD would probably not be priced for wedding video production.

Just FYI, my experience with video transmitters of the price range and level of what the website you reference sells is terrible. Barely usable for monitoring...

I am also wondering about this. Maybe not HD, but SD. I might be running a 3-5 camera live production next January and I need something that will run sans wires. If not, could somone tell me about wired switch boxes that will allow me to do live switching.

The most promising is the Edirol V-440HD www.edirol.com.

The store says that it can make HD transmiters. I am going to test the SD device out and if they have HD try that as well and keep everyone posted.

I think there might be a new bread of mobile HD reality TV producers coming...

But I agree, I don't have my hopes up on these wireless devices working well on the field. But you never know unless you try.

nateweaver was right about this I went into the store and it wasen't pro.I took out my HD100 ready to test them and they seem to get quite and couldn't show me anything even composite that I could try.

Maybe they are for real but I got the sense that its hoobiest toys not pro stuff. If any one finds a store that sells the real deal please post.
