So I was on Vincent Laforet's blog where he was talking about how he uses the IDX Camwave Wireless HD system for connecting to multiple wireless monitors. And while that's all well and good, it's also well over $5k.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to come off of a DSLR and go into a Gefen Wirelss HDMI Extender (or this one) and rig up some way to battery operate it.
My goal is to have 3 monitors in the end. One on camera for the camera operator. One for the Director and one for the focus puller who will be wireless using either a Viewfactor or Hocus Focus. I'll probably get a couple HDMI splitters to do the job. One off of the camera and one off of the Gefen receiver.
What do you guys think?
