wireless hand-grip

As m43 lenses get better and become more popular, I really hope to see a smart hand-grip that can replace those follow focus gears.

We are using a camera to shoot video. Most controls are designed for the right hand. That leaves left hand to stabilize the camera. If left hand can use hangrip on a shoulder rig to stabilize and control zooming and focusing like ENG style, right hand can hold the camera in the traditional camera style to control the buttons. The body should be capable of handling the wireless signals from the handle.

Someday...

I built something to allow this. It isn't precise enough for manual focusing but for zooming it's just great!

At 3:30 the shoulder rig description starts. At 6:50 you can see the left hand zoom in action

Sweet! I can't believe someone hasn't come out with a way overpriced commercial version of something like this.

Imagine everything goes digital and wireless. Wireless power zooming and focusing. Open wireless camera protocol. Long live to vdslr!!!

Neither me! I rather go DIY than spend more dough on the adapter than the camera. And yes, I later realized Bonobored was writing about the hand grip; it´s just that Zacuto came to my mind and I jumped to type and make the $948 remark.

Lots of innovative DIYs around that at some point will be copied for shure; I love the Sphere arm too!
