Winter Tide - A D90 short

Andrew:

good stuff...I like the look and feel of this piece. Question though. At the very beginning of the film, if you look to the left (on the wide shot of the woman in the bathroom sink)...you see what seems to be a brown door and you see some light reflecting or bouncing. There seems to be a lot of noise...do you get that in the original footage right off the camera?

I ask because I've been getting a lot of that "dancing noise" in low light situations...right off the camera. It seems as if the camera is trying to compress the blacks and can't quite decide on how to. It then reads like "dancing noise"

Aside from that...which has nothing to do with your vision and execution...fabulous piece!

so, the girl gets no credits eh? that's not very nice.

nice simple piece though, looks good.

Super8, the noise on the door is in the original, because I shot this on the stock 18-105 and I believe because of the lower aperture (in an already dark room) that the camera decided to mess with other factors, maybe ISO and higher compression causing the noise in the underexposed areas. If I had lit this to a suitable range for the D90 I think it could have been avoided though.
