That was fun! ;D Thanks for the link. Where did you get the music (which was perfect for the flic, by the way)? Did you use After Effects to do the eye wink?

Cute! makes me wish I had a kitty.

I also liked the music and the way you "moved" the cat.

Some parts look a little out of focus, though it could definitely be the compression.

Excellent use of jump cuts and handheld camera moves to emulate crane and jib shots, but give the compositions a little more edge and vitality. I'd like it more with everything more in focus, but that could be the compression, as said above. It reminds me of Lars Van Triers, without the incredibly depressing themes, though.

My friend has a cat that loves me. I miss that furry orange thing.

that said..

I like dogs better, but like I think cats photograph better.

that said..

sometimes cats tend to look like long blobs in photos. I'm sure you all have seen.

I don't know, the clip looked really blurry. The cat also looked terrified! I wished I had a really fat cat. Overweighted cats to me looks so cute. Oh, I feel so girly saying that. :)

the original clip is not out of focus. too much compression or something. that's all .mac.com has to offer me right now. they shrink it down and make it fuzzy as ****. pardon my stars.

wish i could show it to all of you more crisper.

I love photographing cats with my SLR and shooting them with my DVX.

Sorry to beat on you about the focus thing.
( now here is my vent..I WORK with someone that needs to get their eyes checked and have been hacking through some their shots..??? )

For sure, it is your compression. I don't use .mac for web video stuff, but I'm sure its like you just upload ( and all the mac elves go to work shrinking your video) and then you make your link, but the video was compressed like one size fits all..

Thanks for something interesting and creative to look at, though!

If you are using the .mac Homepage option to upload directly from iMovie, it will compress your movie to a predetermined size that generally looks quite crappy. You can choose QuickTime expert settings and compress however you like (MPEG-4 looks nice). Just export the file then drag it into your iDisk movie folder.

You need to put your clip in the "sites" folder, not in movies.

Then create a webpage specifically for that clip. If you need more details, let me know. The page has to link to your .mov and has to have the right html to allow for playing the movie in quicktime.

--so this is beyond the pre-made stuff in .mac. you are basically just using your iDisk to host your movie and YOU provide the code to let people watch it.

Lol...That was pretty funny and definately resourceful! I hate cats because they know I am stupid and never listen to me. I love dogs because I am half Korean and if they piss me off I can always turn them into a little snack. kidding. I am half korean though...Anyways, you might want to work on having a little more lighting...But then again, you may scare the little critter into a bad performance. Tim.
