Wind clipping on TV, but not Vegas

I finished a rough cut of my film and copied it to a DVD to see how it transferred and I noticed in several outdoor scenes that the audio is much different than on the computer. For some reason, there are several instances of clipping when it sounds fine on the computer.

Any thoughts on why this would happen? Thanks.
 
Are the VU meters in Vegas also showing that the audio is not peaking over 0dB? You should not trust only your computer speakers as what you hear from them can be affected/adjusted at several different points (system volume control, on-speaker volume control, etc.). If your VU meters are showing that the audio is not clipping, then you might also want to check the source audio, as the clipping may have occured during recording.
