Win XP 64 on Avid MC?

I am interested in trying Avid MC. However, I read the specs and it isn't supposed to be able to run on Win XP 64. I'm just wondering if anyone out there is actually doing so. Many times, the software will work.....

I know I can upgrade, but that will require a clean install of either Vista or Win 7....which is a pain.

I'm current using Premiere Elements 7.0...
