This ranks right up there with Chang-Lendl, Borg-McEnroe, and Sampras-Agassi Australian Open. As many here know, I'm a huge "Federer best ever" guy. Not anymore. You simply cannot be best ever when you have such a lopsided losing record to another player. Particularly after they beat you on your best surface.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with Federer now. It was such a foregone conclusion that he would top Sampras' grand slam record. Now I'm not so sure. He might be able to tie it but it's not looking good.
He does have one chance, however. It's never good when you're 22 years old with severe knee problems - as Nadal has. I wouldn't be surprised if he started getting some lengthy injuries. Federer just has to pray they happen during the slams.
