Wimbledon 2008 Thread

This ranks right up there with Chang-Lendl, Borg-McEnroe, and Sampras-Agassi Australian Open. As many here know, I'm a huge "Federer best ever" guy. Not anymore. You simply cannot be best ever when you have such a lopsided losing record to another player. Particularly after they beat you on your best surface.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with Federer now. It was such a foregone conclusion that he would top Sampras' grand slam record. Now I'm not so sure. He might be able to tie it but it's not looking good.

He does have one chance, however. It's never good when you're 22 years old with severe knee problems - as Nadal has. I wouldn't be surprised if he started getting some lengthy injuries. Federer just has to pray they happen during the slams.
 
One of the best matches I've ever watched.

However, Federer was far from being on the top of his game. He had just too much unforced errors. it was like Federer attacking, but always missing those crucial shots.

Also, too many bad calls. That computer system is annoying, and distracting!

However, great game by Nadal. He deserved the win. Will this be Federer's swan song? Or will he be back, stronger next year? This is a sequel 'll definitely not want to miss!
 
Federer had so many break chances and then he'd hit the lamest shots in that second set. Nadal just kept on coming, relentless. He totally deserved this one, and its definately one for the ages.
