Will these batts work?

These are not likely to work, as the AF100 / AF101 uses the VW-VBG6 consumer battery packs from the AG-HMC151 AVCCAM camcorder which have a different moulding, hence even a genuine Panasonic CGA-D54s does not fit despite being a similar physical size and nominal voltage / capacity.

Both Anton Bauer and IDX have nice solutions for 7.3v batteries that also have D-taps for 12v lights, NanoFlash etc.

I will be incorporating those in my shoulder/rod system for the AF100, they will work well as balance weights as well.

So what's the consensus on these ebay batteries? The price is awesome and I hear good things. But will they hurt my camera in any way?

If we take B&H's price for the genuine Panasonic article ($249.99 I believe), then if this battery lasts even just half as long (both in runtime and lifetime) it's a steal. Could be good even just as cheap back-ups.

The thing that worries me about eBay batteries is fire/meltdown. I'm not trying to spread FUD here because it's never happened to me and I know some people on another forum that swear by these no-name battery packs. With the Lenmar's at about $100 and IDX at about $130 I wouldn't chance it personally, but seriously, if the battery's getting weird on you, you can just take it off your camera.

The IDX double charger and two IDX batteries arrived here yesterday. I hope I soon have something to slide them in/onto!
