in any case, looking at those same pictures: the canon is using a wider FOV, so I wouldn't test sharpness using those; still... doesn't the bitrate on the VG10 seem a bit too low? look at the white car parked on the sidewalk at the end of the zebra crossing, or at the taxi right below the big blue sign; the VG10 is showing some very nasty artifacts!
