HPX250: Will the FS100 work with the HVX 250?

I am getting my 250 next week. One thing I didnt see here is if the ole FS 100 harddisc recorder will work? I would like to use it until I decide which SDI recorder I will eventually buy.
 
Although it doesn't mention the FireStore specifically, page 105 of the second user manual talks about connecting backup recorders to the 1394 port. There appears to be a lot of functionality unavailable in that situation, however.

I'm curious, however. Why will you be using an SDI recorder instead of P2?
 
Thanks for the help. Yes it seems the AVCintra is not going to run on 1334 but the old DVCPROHD will, which is good! I have 4 P2 cards and 96 gb together but very often I run out of time and like to take the FS100 along for safety. It has proven my jack up the sleeve in many situations! For the same reason I will get something like the blackmagic too: to make sure I have enough recording time before it gets dark....
 
The FS100 should certainly work in DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50 and DVCPRO-HD modes (but not in 720pN or AVC-Intra, because the firewire port is disabled when in 720pN or AVC-Intra modes).
 
Thanks Barry. Are you going to do a book on the 250? Will we need to tweak the scene files like we did on the HVX 201? It seems all the frame rate hacking isnt needed anymore but maybe you could give us some tips on the settings? I would need some tweaking tips to get as close to my old HVX 201 so I can easily intercut with it as B cam and I would like to see if I can get it to intercut with RED footage. I was never really happy with mixing GH1 footage since its color space was so reduced and left little margin for correction.
