I am waiting to buy the DVX100AE - but I can't find any info here on "timelapse" you know the type of shots always done with traffic - streaking lights trails at night .
It seems by reading on some other forums , that this is hard to do with DV , but It is one of the main reasons I want to buy this cam - so does it do it ? or not ? & if it does - is it any good ?

The DVX100 A seems to have an upgrade in the slow shutter speed section of the cam & has some more options - so has anyone got any info ?

slow shutter speed and time laps are two completely different things. You can capture time lapse footage at any shutter speed basically it is just taking a snapshot every certain amount of time. I have not heard anything about the inclusion of an upgraded time lapse function of the dvx100a. However, if you have scenealizer you can get wonderful timelapse footage taken from your original dv footage.

I too am curious about this feature. The current DVX does have this feature available, but has anyone actually done it? Maybe I should get the camera out today and do some timelapse of me sitting on the couch.

Tghe DVX100A does have longer shutter speeds so you can get nice long smears on moving objects and none on non-moving (or solower moving with al beigbs relative). SO you can do the cool shots like a person standing in traffic with all the cars smeared as they drive bym but the person being relative sharp when standing still.

My wonderful typing meant to write: "with all things being relative"

Hi Michael,

Can the dvx100 do it also - even though the shutter speeds are not as long ?

Do you have the A model ?

Got any news on the AE ?

Cheers
