Will the 1.34 ever be hacked?

Last I heard is that it will be worked on. They need to desolder the firmware chip and read it manually into a computer, because Panasonic hasn't released the binary anywhere. I think that's the main stumbling block with not being able to get around it right now. This requires an expensive BGA desoldering workstation and chip reader.
 
Desoldering and reballing is not the problem.
Chip reader is tougher thing (as this is not flash, but rather quite rare MCP package).
But we see some light :-)
