Will S-log and 4K Upgrade be included for New Purchase?

Does anyone know if Sony will include the 4k upgrade which includes S-Log at the time of a new purchase. I am thinking about purchasing the camera in the next 3 months, but I would prefer to not have to send the camera in for the upgrade. Anyone have any information or will the upgrade never be included?

Alister Chapman on another forum said they're in the pipeline. Only a matter of time before they're for sale. He can't say anything else he mentioned. So it's coming when? Maybe the end of the year early next year but they're coming.

I don't see where do you live actually? .. as I'm in New York, it was not a problem for me to call to Teaneck, NJ and ask them an appointmet .. and coming there with camera for 4K upgrade .. I just wait couple hours and go back home with 4K FS700 ... so..? how far away are from neares Sony Service Center ? :)

I am in the northwest so I would have to send it in. That isn't too big of a deal though, you are right. I was just hoping they would release the camera with the 4k and S-Log without raising the price. Saving me a bit of money. But they could just add $400 or $500 to the price of the new camera too...

I have a c100 and love it, but I really want 120 and 240 fps! So I am really just on the fence about purchasing the camera now or waiting for the FS700 mark 2 or something else that comes along. It seems like the version 2 of the FS700 would be at least 2 years away if I had to guess. I think I would pull the trigger and purchase it, if I could get the S-Log 4K upgrade for the same price it costs new now ($7500).

Sony has a promotion going on until August 31 for the FS700 and FS100. Purchase before August 31 and get a free Metabones adapter. A $400 value. My best guess is after August 31st the FS700 will come out with v3.0 firmware at the same price as it is now.

I have a feeling (I can be 100% wrong like always) that it may go back up to $7,999 with the new firmware instead of the current promotion of $7,499. We'll see. September Sony does make announcements for new products so they can update during that time.

Could this mean that something new for the fs100 will come?
