I've got a feeling this may not work , but give it a try. If it works there isn't anyway to degrade the signal. Digital is digital or nothing.

I will try it :) , another question , right now I am capturing without tape to my desktop computer and works fine , but I am not able to record using the direct button of the camera , only with the computer one , you know any program able to begin recording when the camera record button is pressed ?
Thanks again !

It blows my mind that someone could be so dishonest to make, market and sell such a product, it's scummy in every sense of the word. As Capt Chuck pointed out, their two totally different signals, and are in no way compatible with one cable. Scumbag vendors like this, figure if it's a couple bucks, people wont bother sending it back. They sell thousands of these and it's pure profit for the most part. This could also be dangerous to equipment as both usb and six pin firewire carry voltage. I hope nobody blows the camera boards from using this gimmick. it really makes me mad anyone could be so non caring of others. If in some way I'm wrong, and this is a legitimate product, I sincerely apologize. From my knowledge this cant work.

Dang! I fell for that too, although I have not tried it...Query - data transfer for 4-pin to 6-pin FW OK?

Sure. 4 pin to 6 pin firewire is ok because both ends are using the same protocol... just a difference in connectors that the cable takes care of.
