Will it be possible to record more then 12 minutes?

Do you think with a firmware update Recording for over 12 minutes will be possible?

Or is there some other way to bypass this?

I remember reading a post where someone was recording full 4:2:2 by recording off the HDMI out and doing some other things perhaps you could record for longer this way?
 
The file system used to record data is FAT32. It has a 4GB file size limit. It's just how computers work. The real issue is that it's not capable of closing out and seamlessly opening a new file, but if it's not designed to do that the processor won't be able to handle it quick enough to be feasible. If HDMI output were enabled for recording then yes, that would not cause a limit because you would be recording to an NTFS disk instead.
 
mmm I see I would just think with firmware this could be changed.

If i remember correct you can format a USB thumb drive to NTFS or FAT32 so why couldn't we do that to our CF cards and then with the magic lantern firmware be able to write to NTFS...
