will cineform files edit smoothly off external hard drive?

hi, was thinking of getting cineform neo scene to transcode footage onto an external hard drive for editing in premiere cs3. i have a dell studio laptop 2.53ghz core 2 duo 4gb ram, would an external harddrive be fast enough to edit cinefrom files smoothly? - if so which is faster e-sata or firewire, & which harddrives are recommended?

also is this legitimate, $15 for cinefrom neoscene seems very low, next best i found is $99 from videoguys?

Videoguys is legit, but this other place? $15 for Neo Scene. Really.... Looks like cracked software to me. If you go with this you wont get support from Cineform if the serial number is bogus.

And only $15 for Izotope Ozone 4? Really? I paid $250. :huh:
 
anyone had any joy using esata drives with cineform?
seems many are having problems just getting esata drives to work at fast speeds necessary, cant seem to find any that people are happy with - please let me know if there are any recommendations out there
