Will AVCHD handle this type stuff? Video SAMPLE

Hi all.
Before I attempt this type stuff again, I need advice as to whether my cameras are up to it, please.
I have some Panasonic HMC 150s and a Sony NEX EA50U.

Can the AVCHD codec handle the fast motion driving and also the scenes where all the pixels are moving such as driving through a tunnel and lots of backgound movement, or should I expect it to start breaking down?
This footage was all shot with CCD SD cameras years ago.

Here's a sample of the type of stuff I want to shoot again

I'm thinking 720 60P for the HMC 150s and 1080 60P for the EA50. Also, will the EA50s rolling shutter be an issue?

Depends on what flavor of AVC you shoot. All i-frame versions in higher bit rates do very well. Long GOP versions under 50mbps not so much.

My cameras are all long GOP, 21-24mb. And 28mbit for the 1080 60p camera.
So it's pretty much not going to be pretty?
Ive seen my footage start to break up shooting a fire and hazy heat above it, but shooting cars takes much effort and I don't want to get back and see the footage is bad.

what is most likely the result? In a drive along shot with colorful fall folliage behind the car, will the moving background (lots of motion) suffer and the car pixels (changing less) remain in good shape? Or will the whole image suffer?

this is more of a rolling shutter issue. This is why I got a JVC HM700. it is a HD camera with 3 CCDs (actually for sale - loss of a client made this camera no longer needed)
so you'll want to use a HD camera with CCD chips

Thanks guys. I was hoping to use the nex ea50 (with ninja blade if necessary) since it's a sharper camera and can do 1080 60p.
But it's rolling shutter CMOS. Sounds like I'll have to use the hmc150s since they have CCDs and stick with 720 60p.

For shots like at :16 and :35 where the car is mostly stationary but the background is moving a lot, would the car look ok with a rolling shutter camera and only the background skew?
