will 1.67 dual core work with HDV Rack?

Ok so I haven't got an HVX yet, but it's a given when I'm ready to do the ol' upgrade. So here's my situation. I'm in the market for a laptop for around $700 bones to run dvrack. I want to be able to use it when I go HD as well. There is a dell dual core 1.67 on sale right now at dell and it's right in my price point. Will the dual core 1.67 be able to keep up with HDV Rack? I'm pretty much blind when it comes to the advantages of dual core. I know it doesn't mean that it's twice the speed, but does it run faster than 1.67 because it's "dual" . also Does dvrack even support dual core Technology? Anyhow any input and or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks ya'll

I can't acutally answer your question (having not used HDV Rack), but I will advise you not to buy HDV Rack if you plan on getting the HVX -- it will only work for DV capture, not High-Def. The HDV Rack will work on cameras that use the HDV codec, not DVCPROHD as the HVX does. So if you're getting the HVX and only need to capture DV, then get the regular DV Rack. I have heard rumors that a "DVCPROHD Rack" is upcoming, so perhaps it would be wise to wait.

Right -- HDV Rack is unrelated to the HVX. They haven't announced an HD Rack yet, but if and when they do, you can expect to see minimum system specifications announced at that time. Buying before then might be a bit hasty, if your main reason for buying would be to run this program...
